A DISTINCTIVE LOVE FOR MATERIALS
We visited the home of Monique Consentino, located in Østerbro, Copenhagen. During the past two years Monique has worked as a design and technical developer for New Works. During the visit we got a glimpse of how New Works products are styled in a home characterized by a love for metals and stones.
A material collection
Monique Consentino has a distinctive love for gathering materials, and displaying them on her shelf. The shelf is a design of her own, which is created to raise and display favourite items in the home. Metal and stone is a common theme in the styling of the shelf, where both Aura Table Mirror, Balance Candle Holder, Block Candle Holder and a raw version of Gear Candle Holder contributes with material honesty to the collection.
Her desk is also revealing to the fact that she works as a designer and a technical developer. Material samples and tools are close to hand, where also Core Table Lamp plays it's part as a rough cut of granite - matching the tabletop.
Her livingroom contains a calm vibe influenced by the long white curtains capturing the light, where also Lantern Pendant creates symmetry and stillness by hanging as the center of the room. Next to the sofa, Five Floor Lamp stands in the company of a coconut palm. The white metal of the lamp and the green leaves from the palm creates a delicate and discreet color contrast.
By moving attention to the sofa table, we do again experience her exquisite flair for combining materials. A chrome table decorated with brass vintage founds and a Balance Candle Holder in black marquina marble.
